Avocado Crema
Ingredients:
- 1-2 ripe avocados
- 1 garlic clove
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1/2-1 teaspoon sea salt
- zest & juice of 2 limes
- ¼ cup loosely packed fresh cilantro
- 1/2-1 Serrano or jalapeño pepper, if you prefer a bit of heat.
A few notes on making this:
- This is incredibly quick and easy to make as a topping for tacos, or on its own as a dip for chips or veggies, since it can be made in your food processor.
- These ingredients are approximate— start with those amounts and add more or less to your taste.
- This is also forgiving to make if your avocado isn’t perfectly ripe. Ripe ones are best, but even if it’s a little under ripe, it will blend nicely as long as it’s not too hard.
Directions:
- Slice avocados lengthwise and remove pit and skin.
- Slice Serrano or jalapeño lengthwise and remove stem and seeds. (Leave a few seeds if you prefer more heat.)
- Add avocado, and Serrano or jalapeño if using, to a food processor or small blender, along with garlic, salt, lime juice, and cilantro, and blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust for seasoning.
- Spoon over tacos and enjoy.
