Spicy margaritas
*makes two cocktails
Ingredients:
- 3oz tequila
- 3oz fresh lime juice (from about 3-4 limes)
- 2oz Cointreau
- Tajin seasoning, for glass rims
- Serrano or jalapeño pepper, sliced into thin rounds
A few notes on making these:
- If you don’t prefer a spicy margarita, you can make this without the peppers
- I love Tajin on the rim of the glass, but a nice sea salt will work as well.
Directions:
- Juice limes and slice peppers
- Pour a bit of Tajin or salt into a shallow saucer.
- After juicing limes, run a lime slice around the rims of your glasses.
- Dip the glasses in the saucer of Tajin spice or salt.
- Fill rimmed glasses with ice and place in freezer while you shake your drinks.
- Fill shaker with ice
- Add 4-5 slices of pepper, if using
- Add tequila, Cointreau and lime juice, and shake vigorously 20-30 times, until very cold.
- Remove glasses from freezer and pour cocktails through strainer.
- Garnish with a few slices of pepper and enjoy!
