We help Christian couples struggling in their marriage to redeem it through the grace and love of Jesus Christ! Sherman Daley Bio Sherman was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, and moved to Canada as a teenager where he completed high school. His family later relocated to Los Angeles, where he found his faith and began his spiritual journey. Shortly after, Sherman moved to San Diego to pursue engineering, which eventually led him to a successful career as a computer programmer. Throughout his life, Sherman has been deeply involved in his church community, leading young adult and married couples' groups, coordinating church activities, and serving as a music leader. His faith has always been central to his life as he worked to develop a close relationship with God. After nineteen years of marriage, Sherman experienced a painful divorce. Later, God brought Semise into his life, who was also seeking a partner. They married and blended their families—Sherman with one child, and Semise with four children—and now enjoy eight grandchildren together. Their marriage faced its own challenges that led to their divorce, but through this struggle, God revealed patterns from their past and guided them to restore their marriage. They remarried after being divorced for 3&1/2 years. Their personal journey of healing and reconciliation has inspired their current ministry, where they help other couples restore their marriages. They co-founded their marriage coaching business, Marriage Restoration Ministry, Inc where they coach couples to strengthen their relationships with God and each other.   Semise Daley Bio Semise was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. When she was a toddler, her mother and father eloped to Fairfield California and lived near her paternal grandmother, Helen. When she was 5 years old, her mother left her father and returned to NOLA with Semise. Shortly afterwards her parents divorced.  She is her mother’s only child, but she has two half-sisters, one half-brother, and one stepsister from her father’s other marriages and relationships. Growing up without a stable father figure in her life was very difficult growing up. But being close to her maternal grandmother, Azena, and going to church with her was what introduced her to a solid relationship with the Heavenly Father. That introduction has led her to stay close to God and His church. She has served in the ministry in various capacities, including lending her nursing professional skills to the faith community as a Parish Nurse in New Orleans, LA, Evansville, IN, and now in San Diego, CA. She was an ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 2005 and currently serves with her husband, Sherman, in their local church, Rock Church of San Diego - City Heights Campus, as Marriage Ministry Leaders. She is a Nationally Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Adjunct Professor at Azusa Pacific University (APU), and also a Ph.D. in Nursing student working on her dissertation study. She has been awarded numerous awards and scholarships in her nursing career as well as served as a speaker both locally and nationally on several occasions. She and Sherman first got married in 2012, divorced in 2017, then remarried in 2020. They have a blended family of five adult children and eight grandchildren, (plus two granddogs-Peppah & Zoey). They co-founded their marriage coaching business, Marriage Restoration Ministry, Inc., where they coach couples to strengthen their relationships with God and each other to help avoid the traumatic effects of separation and divorce if possible. restoredmarriages.com

Is It Too Late for Us? Rebuilding Trust After Betrayal

Tuesday, September 15, 2026

You found out. Maybe it was a text message. Maybe it was the browser history. Maybe it was a name that kept coming up one too many times.

And now there's one question you can't stop asking yourself, usually somewhere around two in the morning: is it too late for us?

In this episode, Sherman and Semise Daley tackle betrayal head-on, walking through infidelity, emotional affairs, and pornography from both a biblical and a psychological lens. They show why Scripture never ranks one kind of betrayal against another, why concealment (not the sin itself) is what actually predicts whether a marriage recovers, what real accountability looks like, and why "too late" is a category God has never once worked in.

What we cover:
• Why Scripture doesn't rank betrayal — physical infidelity, emotional affairs, and pornography all break the same covenant trust (Matthew 5:27-28)
• The Gottman Institute's research on real, measurable trauma symptoms in betrayed spouses
• Shirley Glass's "window and wall" framework, and how betrayal turns it backward
• Why owning your five percent is the first, and hardest, step toward healing
• The story of Hosea, and God's own answer to "too late"
• The numbers behind the teaching — daily pornography use linked to a 45% drop in reported commitment, and divorce risk nearly doubling, even in marriages both spouses call "very happy"
• 4 practical steps to start rebuilding trust this week

Developmental and Therapeutic Parenting

Tuesday, September 8, 2026

A ten-year-old can walk through your door with a ten-year-old body, and a much younger child still living inside it.

Trauma freezes development. It doesn't erase it — it just stalls it.

If you've ever asked yourself what's wrong with this kid, this episode asks a better question instead.

In this episode, Sherman and Semise Daley walk through why a child's chronological age and developmental age often don't match, especially after trauma, loss, or disruption. Using MRM's External / Internal / Philosophical framework, they show what's really underneath a child's hardest behavior, and why the Regulate, Relate, Reflect sequence has to come before correction ever works.

What we cover:
• Why a child's chronological age and developmental age often don't match, especially after trauma, loss, or disruption
• MRM's External / Internal / Philosophical framework, applied to what's really underneath a child's hardest behavior
• The Regulate, Relate, Reflect sequence, and why correction before connection never works
• What Psalm 103, Romans 8, Ephesians 6, and 1 Thessalonians 2 were already teaching about parenting a child's actual frame, long before the research caught up
• The numbers behind the teaching — roughly 332,000 children in the U.S. foster care system, and the training approach that cut incident reports by 93.5% in two years
• 3 practical steps to try this week, starting with the one sentence to say before you say anything else

Second Marriages at Higher Risk, and the Myth Everyone Quotes

Monday, August 31, 2026

Second marriages carry a higher divorce risk than first marriages. That part is true. However, the 67% figure everyone quotes doesn't trace back to any real study. If you're remarried, engaged again, or walking alongside someone who is, this episode is for you.

In this episode, Sherman and Semise Daley separate what the research actually shows from the number that's been repeated so often nobody questions it anymore. They walk through why second marriages carry more risk using MRM's External / Internal / Philosophical framework, then lay out exactly what closes the gap for couples willing to do the work.

What We Cover:
• The real range behind "second marriages fail more," and why the popular 67% figure can't be traced to any dataset
• MRM's External / Internal / Philosophical framework applied to why marriage number two carries more weight than marriage number one
• Why blended family integration takes 4 to 7 years, not 4 to 7 months, and what that does to unprepared couples
• The six risk drivers researchers keep finding, and the covenant answer to each one
• Why closing the divorce door has to be a decision, not a feeling, the second time around
• 3 practical steps to protect a second marriage, starting this week

Why Christian Couples Still Divorce — What They Missed Before It Was Too Late

Monday, August 24, 2026

Wives usually see it coming years before husbands do.

Not because men don't care — because nobody trained either of you to notice contempt, criticism, or stonewalling building for years before anyone calls it quits.

If you've ever wondered "what am I missing?" — this episode is for you.

In this episode, Sherman and Semise Daley take on the myth that's let too many Christian couples down their guard: that a "Christian" marriage divorces at the same rate as anyone else, so faith alone will hold it together. It won't. Practiced, shared faith does — and Sherman and Semise walk through exactly what that means, backed by the research and by their own story of missing the warning signs before they knew to look for them.

What we cover:
• The real numbers behind "Christians divorce at the same rate as everyone else" — and the one factor that actually predicts a lasting marriage
• MRM's External / Internal / Philosophical framework — the three levels every "sudden" divorce was actually building on for years
• Why wives identify 7 of 13 warning signs as things getting worse over time — and husbands identify only 1 of 13
• Contempt, criticism, defensiveness, and stonewalling — and the Scripture that named them centuries before the research did
• Why counseling cuts divorce risk by roughly 31% — and why only 1 in 4 Christian couples ever ask for it
• 3 practical steps to take this week, before it becomes a crisis

Where Are You? The Spiritual Leadership Crisis in Christian Marriage

Monday, August 17, 2026

She's leading the family devotions. She's up praying at midnight for a marriage, a prodigal child, a husband who hasn't opened his Bible in months.

He's not a bad man — he's just checked out. If that's your home, this episode is for you.

In this episode, Sherman and Semise Daley tackle the spiritual leadership crisis head-on — the growing number of Christian homes where the wife has become the spiritual engine while the husband has quietly stepped back. No shame, no sugarcoating, and no dodging the headship-versus-servant-leadership conversation everyone's arguing about right now.

What we cover:

•  Why so many wives are carrying the spiritual weight of the home alone

•  The MRM three-level framework: what's happening externally, internally, and philosophically in a spiritually checked-out marriage

•  Sherman and Semise's own story — where he coasted and she gripped tighter

•  What biblical headship actually means (and why it's not what most people think)

•  Servant leadership modeled by Christ, not control dressed up as authority

•  3 practical steps couples can start tonight

Key Scriptures:

Genesis 3:9 · Joshua 24:15 · Ephesians 5:21, 25 · 1 Corinthians 11:3 · Mark 10:45 · 1 Peter 3:7 · Deuteronomy 6:6-7

"Quiet Divorcing" — The Marriage Trend Nobody Names Until It's Too Late

Monday, August 3, 2026

You haven't filed anything. You haven't even raised your voice. You still share the mortgage, the calendar, maybe even the bed. But somewhere in the last year — or five — you and your spouse quietly stopped reaching for each other.

That's quiet divorcing. No blowup. No affair. Just distance, dressed up as peace.

In this episode, Sherman Daley breaks down what quiet divorcing actually is, why researchers say the small ignored moments predict marital breakdown more reliably than big fights, and why calm is not the same as healthy. You'll hear what Scripture says about covenant abandoned in silence (Malachi 2:14-16, Genesis 2:24, Ecclesiastes 4:9-10), the real numbers behind "gray divorce" among couples over 50, and five practical ways to interrupt a quiet divorce before it becomes a loud one.

If any of this hit close to home, that's not a sign your marriage is over — it's a sign you still care enough to notice. That's exactly where restoration starts.

When Your Spouse Won't Change — How to Stay Faithful Without Losing Your Mind

Monday, July 13, 2026

You've prayed. You've tried. You've stayed. And they're still... the same.
If you're exhausted from carrying a marriage only one of you seems willing to fight for — this episode is for you.

When your spouse won't change, it isn't just frustration. It's grief — grieving the marriage you thought you'd have, and wrestling with a helplessness no amount of effort seems to fix. Sherman and Semise Daley have lived this firsthand: a season where Sherman wasn't willing to look at himself or do the hard work, and Semise had to learn she couldn't fix him. Only God could.

What we cover:

● Why pushing and pressuring almost always backfires — and what actually creates safety for change● The difference between an identity threat and real conviction, and why nagging rarely works● What cognitive dissonance reveals about a spouse who says they love you but keeps hurting you● The difference between praying AT God about your spouse and praying FOR your spouse● Why covenant faithfulness is not the same as unhealthy enabling — and where boundaries fit● 3 practical steps to take this week if your spouse won't change

Key Scriptures:
Proverbs 15:1 · Isaiah 40:31 · Romans 12:2 · Jeremiah 18 · Jeremiah 32:17 · 1 Peter 3:1

Your faithfulness is never wasted. God sees every prayer, every sacrifice, every time you chose love when you didn't feel like it — and He is faithful to finish what He started.

When One of You Wants More: The Desire Gap Nobody Talks About

Monday, July 6, 2026

Description:
You reach for your spouse and they pull away. Again.
If that’s your marriage right now — this episode is for you.
The desire gap is one of the most painful, most hidden struggles in Christian marriage. One spouse is starving for connection. The other is shut down, pulling back, or checked out. And most couples suffer through it in silence because they don’t know how to name it — or they’re afraid of what naming it might cost them.

In this episode, Sherman and Semise Daley tackle the desire gap directly — no shame, no sugarcoating, and no skipping over the hard parts.

What we cover:

● Why the desire gap is a covenant issue, not just a comfort issue● The pursuer/withdrawer cycle that keeps couples stuck● What "I don’t want to" is usually really saying underneath● How repeated rejection turns into resentment — and what to do about it● What God’s Word actually says about physical intimacy in marriage (1 Corinthians 7:3-5)● 5 practical steps to start closing the gap — starting tonight● The 7-Day Reconnect Challenge

Key Scriptures:
1 Corinthians 7:3-5 · Genesis 2:24 · Hebrews 13:4 · Ephesians 5:22, 25 · Song of Solomon 7:10 · 1 Peter 3:7

Cruising to a Better Marriage

Monday, June 8, 2026

What if the best thing you did for your marriage this year happened 200 miles off the California coast?

This November, Sherman and Semise are taking 30 couples on a 7-day Cruise to a Better Marriage — sailing from San Diego to Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatlán aboard Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas. It's not a vacation with a marriage theme bolted on. It's a covenant reset, with the ocean as the backdrop instead of a hotel conference room.

What we cover:

● Why we built a Marriage Cruise instead of another weekend conference● What 7 uninterrupted days together can do for a covenant that's gone quiet● Who this trip is for — and who it isn't● The ports, the ship, and the dates: San Diego → Ensenada → Cabo San Lucas → Mazatlán, November 1–8, 2026● Cabin options (Interior, Ocean View, Balcony) and how reserving your spot works● Why we're capping it at 30 couples, and what happens once it's full

Key Scriptures:
Mark 10:9 · Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

This isn't about getting away from your marriage for a week. It's about getting away with it — so you come back closer than you left.
