Most television shows do not last long. If they survive a season or two, that could be considered a long time. Depending on how much it costs to produce them, many shows do not have much time to find their audience. They get pulled rather quickly if they don’t pull decent ratings and a sizable audience almost immediately.

For that reason, only a handful of television shows become classics, programs beloved by all. One of those select few, modern-day television classics is “The Office.” It’s a hilarious show that can be rewatched endlessly, and because of its sharp and witty writing, you will laugh every time you watch an episode, regardless of how many times you’ve seen it.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Rainn Wilson answered some critically important questions about the show loved by many. Specifically, he was asked which of his “Office” castmates had the toughest time keeping it together while filming. Without a moment’s hesitation, Rainn answered, revealing the individual who struggled the most to stay in character and keep from laughing.

“Brian Baumgartner was the biggest breaker on ‘The Office,’ Rainn said. “Not even a close second, John and I would set each other off. Like, if John and I were doing a scene and there was just a little bit of like a twinkle or the corner of the mouth going, the other person would just lose it immediately.”

On the other hand, Rainn mentioned the actor from “The Office” who almost never broke character during the show’s nine-season run.

“Oscar [Nuñez], I think he broke once in nine years,” Rainn added. “I don’t even remember what scene it was, but he would never break. Oscar ‘Never Break’ Nuñez.”

Fear can feel overpowering—especially when circumstances press in, when we live in places that feel unsafe, or when anxiety has had time to settle in. Winter is often the season we associate with barrenness, both in nature and in our lives. But as tonight's prayer and devotional remind us, any season can leave us feeling drained, as if we are stuck in our circumstances and cycles of thinking. Summer is equally capable of making our souls feel empty, especially if the months did not go as planned or we are in a phase of waiting on God. Our hope wanes alongside the decreasing days of summer. If we are exhausted at the end of this season, we need rest. This might seem counterintuitive, since for many, the natural urge is to jump into action and deliberate on how to fix circumstances and change life's trajectory. Yet, we can do the most by doing the seemingly “least” – laying our concerns at the feet of our Lord (1 Peter 5:7). He has promised us rest when we come to Him, and that is what our soul needs in this time – not more frantic searching for answers or plans. Sometimes, though, we must remind our souls of this necessity if we are to find renewal. The Psalmists often did this in their prayers to the Lord and rallied their souls to attentiveness. For instance, after encountering a sickness that almost led to death, one Psalmist wrote, “Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you” (Psalm 116:7, NIV). Sometimes, we need a reminder to speak to ourselves and encourage our souls to find hope in God (see also Psalm 43:5). It can be easy to forget about the Lord’s love and goodness during a time of desolation. Let us, then, take all our burdens to Christ tonight, confiding in Him about our weariness and feelings of being stuck. He can lift the weight of worry from our shoulders and give us the rest we so desperately need. Yes, our souls may need a little nudging. But we will find refreshment when we lean into the strong arms of our Savior. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28 YOUR NIGHTLY PRAYER Lord, I’m tired and ready for change. The end of this summer has left me feeling as if I am stuck in place and that nothing will ever change in my life, including my thoughts and feelings of hopelessness. These situations are too much for me, God. And I bring them to You tonight because nothing is too big or difficult for You. Take these burdens; I lay them down now at Your feet, and I grasp the promise of rest found in You, Jesus. That is what I yearn for most of all. Yes, my soul, find rest in your Savior. Amen. THREE THINGS TO MEDITATE UPON 1. A time when you carried something heavy. What was it, and how did it make you feel when you finally set it down? Consider telling yourself this truth in Psalmist fashion by addressing your soul: “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2, NIV).

If you are in the mood for some Earth, Wind, and Fire, get ready because this video highlights “Let’s Groove” as a man goes through Sam’s Club during a normal day to invite others to a dance party. You see a fun young man in a sweatshirt that says, “Rockstar Dist” with sunglasses, dancing in the middle of the giant store. The camera quickly turns the opposite direction, and an employee is joining in on the fun and getting his own groove on.

The young man filming jumps over to the employee, where a crowd of a variety of ages gathers around. They do a dance together unexpectedly, and then as the employee moves on to his job, the dancer continues on with a huge smile on his face. This worker made his day by joining in on the fun. 

As the dancing guy moves through the shoppers, we see him get a variety of responses from customers. Some dance with him, and others quickly get out of the way to keep on their shopping missions. 

Regardless of the reaction, everyone this man encounters ends up with a big smile on their face. Out of all Sam’s shoppers, the employee really shines. He has style, swag, and great dance moves. He and the young man have a blast. 

You will love that they are not concerned about what everyone else thinks about them; they are focused on enjoying the moment and letting loose. Sometimes in life, we can become so consumed with the opinions of others that we forget that Jesus invites us to “dance” with Him and stay rooted in our identity in Him.
