Oceanside Museum of Art’s Inaugural Plein Air Festival

Over 200 artists (and counting) will make Oceanside their site of inspiration as they paint the gorgeous coastlines, charming cityscapes, peaceful lagoons, rolling hills with lush flora and fauna, and the historic Mission San Luis Rey of Oceanside July 24-31. There are a variety of ways to enjoy the festival and experience the creativity all around Oceanside throughout the week. Artists can take part in paint outs, competitions, art sales, and more. Art lovers can see Oceanside come to life through the eyes of artists, purchase one of a kind art pieces they witnessed from creation to completion, and enjoy exploring the natural sites of North County. All festival activities lead up to an art sale award ceremony on July 31, followed by a two-month long juried exhibition August 1-October 10. Artist Scott W. Prior and the esteemed Jean Stern will make the awards and exhibition selections. Standard tickets are $75, OMA Artist Alliance Members are $65, and students are free with a valid ID.
