Kick off the holiday season in San Diego’s Little Italy for the 21st Annual Little Italy Tree Lighting and Christmas Village on Saturday, December 7. From 4 to 8 p.m., friends, families and neighbors will experience a magical evening filled with festive décor, seasonal vendors, a tree lighting ceremony, live entertainment and music, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday treats, two Christmas trees, a visit from Santa and more!
A new addition to this year’s festivities is the reveal of a new 25-foot Christmas tree in the Piazza Basilone. Designed by California artist Joshua Hubert, the tree will dazzle like a disco ball with brightening colors that change based on perspective and view. At 6:30 p.m. attendees are encouraged to gather around Little Italy’s other Christmas tree, a 25-foot permanent tree in the Piazza della Famiglia, to light up the tree with a countdown in Italian. Sparkling white lights will blanket all of India Street, transforming Little Italy into a true winter wonderland!
